“cultivating a safe and nurturing environment for a more favorable birthing experience!”
Hello,
I'm Shai Syrah
"Empowering expecting mothers, addressing trauma and its effect on pregnancy outcomes, and cultivating a safe and nurturing environment for a more favorable birthing experience”
My Journey to Becoming a Doula:
I am deeply passionate about advocating for African American women amid the maternal health crisis, addressing obstetric violence, birth trauma recovery, and the impact of trauma on the birthing experience. After completing my full spectrum doula training in 2022, I took a break in 2023 to navigate traumatic life-altering events that inspired the founding of my doula agency Pink Noodle which specializes in trauma-informed doula care. Currently, I am undergoing training as a birth and postpartum doula with DONA International and have recently completed my initial training as a Newborn Care Specialist. My long-term aspirations include becoming a board-certified lactation consultant and a childbirth educator. To achieve these goals, I have begun my lactation counselor training with the Healthy Children’s Project and childbirth education courses with Childbirth International.
In my spare time, I love engaging in my hobbies which includes: spending time with my cat Ra, drawing, reading, building my island in animal crossing, squishmallow hunting and running my shopify store Pink Noodle!
Pink Noodle Mission Statement
At Pink Noodle, we provide trauma-informed doula care that honors the unique journey of each mother. Guided by our core values of empowerment, trauma-informed care, safety and trust, community collaboration, and cultural sensitivity, we pledge to accompany mothers through their childbirth experiences with unwavering support, empathy, and understanding.
We encourage mothers to navigate their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey with confidence by providing evidence-based information, childbirth education, and trauma-focused birth plans.
We are committed to recognizing the impact of trauma on pregnancy and postpartum outcomes. We approach evidence-based practices with sensitivity and cultivate environments that prioritize healing and recovery while avoiding re-traumatization.
Our dedication to safety and trust ensures that mothers feel respected, heard, and valued throughout every stage of their childbirth experience. We create safe spaces built on transparency, confidentiality, and mutual respect.
We embrace collaboration and partnership by working hand in hand with healthcare providers, community, and peer support networks to provide comprehensive care that addresses the psychosocial needs of each mother. This results in a supportive network of care that extends beyond the delivery room.
We understand the importance of social, cultural, and historical considerations in maternal health outcomes, and strive to provide inclusive care that honors and respects the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the mothers we serve.
At Pink Noodle our mission is to empower mothers to navigate their childbirth journey with support, empowerment, resilience, dignity, and confidence.

They are skilled in areas such as feeding, sleep training, and general infant care. Their role often includes educating parents on newborn care practices, assisting with establishing routines, and offering emotional support during the early weeks and months of a baby's life. An NCS can work in various settings, including homes, hospitals, and private practices, and they are particularly valuable for families seeking expert guidance and reassurance.
